How to Use Our Service

How to Use Our Service

Any British Columbian can receive a free 15 to 30 minute consultation with a suitable lawyer, notary or designated paralegal by booking in one of two ways:

A. CALL OUR LRS COORDINATORS

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Steps:

  1. Call 604-687-3221

  2. Describe your legal problem or needs to one of our LRS Coordinators. You may request to consult a lawyer, notary or paralegal who practices in a specific practice area or location, one who offers unbundled legal services, or one who speaks a specific language.

  3. If your total household income was more than $100,000 in the past year, pay the $25 Telephone Booking Fee by credit card (we otherwise don’t charge the Telephone Booking Fee).

An LRS Coordinator will give you the contact information for your assigned legal professional, and notify your assigned legal professional that you’ll be contacting them.

  4. Wait 24 hours to contact your assigned legal professional so they can first check for a conflict of interest.

  5. Schedule your consultation or follow up with us: If your assigned legal professional doesn’t respond or is unavailable, call us back.

You may receive up to three referrals per booking (additional referrals are only provided when your previous referral was unavailable).

  6. Consult your assigned legal professional for 15 to 30 minutes for free. Any additional time may be charged at the professional’s rates.

Your consultation will help you to better identify and understand your legal issues. You can then decide whether to work with your assigned legal professional on a paid basis.
