How LRS Works

Our Service to You

    • We match British Columbians with licensed legal professionals according to their needs. Any BC resident can call us or self-book online to receive a customized referral to a suitable legal professional.

    • With your customized referral, you have the opportunity to consult with a lawyer, notary or a designated paralegal for 15 to 30 minutes. After your free consultation, it’s up to you and your assigned legal professional to decide whether you wish to work together on a paid basis.

    • You’re under no obligation to retain your assigned legal professional after your consultation, and you may use our referral service as many times as you wish (new booking fees may apply).

OUR BOOKING FEES

    • If your total annual household income in the last year was less than $100,000, we don’t charge a booking fee for a customized referral made over the telephone.

    • If your total annual household income in the last year was $100,000 or over, we charge a $25 booking fee for a customized referral made over the telephone.

    • If you use our 24/7 online self-booking service, we charge a $25 booking fee for a customized referral. Our modest booking fees help us to offset the costs of LRS operations.

    • Your booking fee does not guarantee that your assigned legal professional will take your case.

THINGS TO NOTE

    • We only provide referrals to licensed legal professionals on our BC-wide roster. Any working relationship between you and your lawyer, notary or deisgnated paralegal is privileged and separate from LRS.

    • LRS is not a pro bono (free) legal service. Although the initial consultation is free, we connect British Columbians with fee-charging lawyers, notaries and paralegals for affordable legal assistance. If you’re looking for free legal services, please check out these other resources.
